What is a sewage pump?
A sewage pump is designed to convey wastewater and sewage containing solid matter, such as sand, mud, long fibrous materials, and other debris. The most common type is the submersible sewage pump. Featuring an integrated motor-pump, vertical centrifugal design, it operates fully immersed in liquid. Characterized by a compact structure, robust construction, and clog-resistant operation, it is widely used in municipal sewage discharge and integrated within prefabricated pumping stations.
In the chemical and industrial fields, pumps used for handling corrosive or abrasive wastewater are also commonly referred to as sewage pumps. These pumps mostly adopt a horizontal single-stage single-suction centrifugal structure, with a focus on the corrosion and wear resistance of the materials and seals to ensure long-term and reliable operation under severe conditions.

Sewage Pump, Horizontal Installation
Horizontal sewage pumps are suitable for chemical plants and similar industries, handling wastewater that may be corrosive, fibrous, or contain suspended solids, at temperatures up to 80°C.

Suitable for industrial wastewater (60°C max, pH 4–10). Highly corrosion resistant.

Semi-open impeller resists clogging and tangling. For sewage with solids, fibers, and mixed mixtures.

Made from high-chromium iron. Impeller made from corrosion-resistant material; flow parts have wearproof coating.

Sewage pumps are essential in low-lying areas to avoid any risk of flooding or stagnation and to allow water to be pumped up to the sewage network. Their operation is simple and automatic: the pump may be equipped with a float that detects the water level and automatically activates the pumping. Once the water is evacuated, the float descends, and the pump stops.
The service life of a sewage pump motor is not fixed and depends on various factors. Under normal operating conditions, YOUNAI sewage pump motors are designed to last for 20 years or more. Actual results may vary with the operating conditions and exposure to overloading.

For standard sewage pump models, the typical lead time is 2 weeks. YOUNAI maintains a well-stocked inventory of semi-finished components, which enables shorter delivery time. For sewage pumps requiring special materials or customized impeller, the delivery time is longer, typically extending 4 weeks. Once your order is confirmed, a schedule will be provided. You will be kept informed of the production progress until delivery.

Sewage pumps are mainly used for lifting wastewater from lower to higher elevations, such as deep wells or pits. Inline pumps, in contrast, are typically used for boosting pressure and transporting clean liquids in applications like building water supply or closed-loop circulation systems.
Sewage pumps integrate the motor and pump into a sealed, submersible unit. Inline pumps use a direct or coupled connection to a standard, externally-mounted motor.
