YOUNAI Submersible Centrifugal Pumps for Prefabricated Pump Stations
Facing urban flooding caused by extreme rainfall events, integrated prefabricated pump stations have become a key solution for rapid drainage and urban flood control. At the heart of a prefabricated pump station is the submersible centrifugal pump.
Why Are YOUNAI Submersible Centrifugal Pumps Ideal for Prefabricated Pump Stations?
Our submersible centrifugal pumps deliver reliable and efficient pumping performance for stormwater and combined wastewater flows containing sand, debris and solid contaminants. As the core equipment of prefabricated pump stations, these pumps help cities respond more effectively to extreme rainfall and reduce flood risks.

With a maximum solids passage of 76 mm, YOUNAI submersible centrifugal pumps can handle debris carried by stormwater, such as branches, plastic bags and other solid materials, ensuring reliable operation under challenging drainage conditions.

Designed for wastewater containing long fibers and high levels of solid particles, the pumps are equipped with clog-resistant impeller designs and optimized flow passages to reduce fiber entanglement and clogging risks.

Working together with liquid level control systems, the pumps automatically start and stop according to water level changes, rapidly removing accumulated water during heavy rainfall events.

The pump operates fully submerged, featuring a compact structure and small installation footprint, making it well suited for space-limited prefabricated pump stations. Low operating noise also minimizes impact on surrounding environments.

Large-scale Manufacturing Capability → Unlike standard pump suppliers, YOUNAI has complete in-house manufacturing capabilities for large-scale submersible centrifugal pumps. From engineering design and technical solution development to precision welding, advanced machining, and strict quality control procedures, every stage of the manufacturing process is managed to ensure consistent product quality. Our customized manufacturing capability enables us to provide solutions tailored to unique installation requirements, specific hydraulic performance demands, and challenging operating conditions.
Quality Assurance & Reliable Operation → Compared with standard pumps, customized submersible centrifugal pumps involve more complex engineering design, manufacturing coordination, and project investment. Therefore, ensuring reliable performance before delivery is essential. Before shipment, every YOUNAI customized submersible centrifugal pump undergoes comprehensive hydraulic performance testing to verify its hydraulic characteristics and operational reliability. These tests ensure that our submersible pumps deliver stable and dependable operation in demanding applications, including wastewater treatment, industrial drainage, and process water systems. By validating each pump before delivery, YOUNAI helps customers reduce installation risks and achieve long-term reliable operation after commissioning.
How to Select the Right Submersible Centrifugal Pump

Identify the type of liquid to be pumped, including clean water, wastewater, sewage, grey water, raw water, or corrosive media. The liquid characteristics determine the required pump materials and impeller design.

Select the appropriate impeller based on the characteristics of the pumped liquid.
- Closed impellers provide the highest hydraulic efficiency and are best suited for clean liquids.
- Semi-open impellers are suitable for liquids containing suspended solids.
- Open impellers are designed for wastewater with a high solids content.
- Vortex and cutter impellers are recommended for sewage containing long fibers.
YOUNAI submersible centrifugal pumps can handle solids with a maximum passage of 76 mm.

Consider the installation method. Guide rail systems simplify maintenance in fixed installations, while freestanding pumps offer greater flexibility for temporary drainage applications.

Choose manual or automatic operation based on site requirements. Float switch control enables automatic start and stop according to liquid level while preventing dry running.

Equipped with an optional motor cooling jacket, YOUNAI hot water submersible centrifugal pumps can handle liquids at temperatures up to 80°C, ensuring reliable and continuous operation.
Designed to Solve the Challenges You Face
Every wastewater application presents different hydraulic and installation requirements. Our engineering solutions are developed to improve operating efficiency, simplify maintenance, and deliver reliable long-term performance.
DN400 and below – Double-channel impellers deliver high hydraulic efficiency and help reduce energy consumption while maintaining the required flow performance.
DN400 and above – Mixed-flow impellers feature wide flow passages that allow solids to pass more easily and minimize fiber entanglement, reducing the risk of clogging and ensuring reliable operation in sewage and wastewater applications.
Choose the installation method that best suits your project:
Automatic guide rail coupling for fast pump removal without entering the sump;
Portable installation with rigid or flexible discharge piping;
Permanent wet installation for continuous duty;
Dry-pit installation with motor cooling system, ideal for retrofit projects and maintenance-friendly operation.
A submersible centrifugal pump is a centrifugal pump designed to operate completely submerged in the pumped liquid. It is widely used for drainage and wastewater handling in applications such as deep wells, sumps, pits, and pumping stations. Its vertical design integrates the motor, pump volute casing, and impeller into a compact unit, with the sealed motor housed inside the upper cylindrical section and the hydraulic components located at the bottom.
With a compact footprint, robust construction, and easy installation, submersible centrifugal pumps provide reliable solutions for municipal sewage treatment, flood drainage, low-lying area drainage, and industrial wastewater transfer.
YOUNAI designs the hydraulic pump and submersible motor as an integrated system for long-term reliability. An IPX8-rated, Class F insulated motor is built for continuous submerged service. Combined with a robust pump construction, this design provides extended motor life and a long overall service life.
No. A standard submersible centrifugal pump is designed to operate only when fully submerged in the pumped liquid. The surrounding liquid cools the motor and mechanical seal, ensuring reliable and continuous operation. Running the pump dry, even for a short time, can cause overheating and damage to the motor and mechanical seal.
To prevent dry running, submersible centrifugal pumps can be equipped with a float switch, which automatically stops the pump when the liquid level drops below the preset minimum level. Additionally, the motor is IPX8-rated, providing reliable waterproof protection during continuous submerged operation.
Automatic operation refers to the use of a float switch or other level control device to automatically start and stop a submersible centrifugal pump according to the liquid level. When the liquid rises to the preset start level, the pump starts automatically. When the liquid drops below the preset stop level, the pump shuts down automatically to prevent dry running.
This automatic level control helps protect the pump from damage caused by dry running while reducing maintenance requirements. More importantly, because submersible centrifugal pumps are commonly installed in sewage pits, pumping stations, and other confined or hazardous environments, automatic operation minimizes the need for manual intervention. This not only improves personnel safety by reducing entry into hazardous areas but also lowers labor costs and enhances overall operating efficiency.
